Sunlove: A Bold Display Font for Modern Branding Projects

Starting with a Blank Canvas

It was one of those mornings where the design board felt as empty as my coffee cup. I had just begun working on a branding project for a new local skincare brand — clean, minimalist, with a touch of edgy craftsmanship. As I opened Adobe Illustrator and stared at the artboard, I knew the right font could make or break the identity. That’s when I remembered Sunlove — a cool, bold, and robotic-styled display font I had picked up a few weeks earlier.

First Impressions: Sunlove in Logo Design

I dropped the font into the logo mockup, typing out the brand name in all caps. Right away, Sunlove brought something unexpected — a futuristic edge that still felt grounded in craftsmanship. The sharp corners and mechanical curves gave it a robotic, almost industrial vibe, while the bold weight made sure it stood out without shouting. It wasn’t the usual soft, organic font you’d expect for a skincare brand, but it worked. It felt modern, confident, and subtly rebellious.

Testing the Font Across Brand Touchpoints

Once the logo direction was approved, I moved on to applying Sunlove across other brand materials. I started with packaging — small glass bottles with minimalist labels. Placing Sunlove as the product name on the sticker mockup, I was struck by how well it balanced between being a display font and remaining readable at a small size. It held its structure, with clean lines and distinct letterforms that didn’t blur together.

Next, I tried it on business cards. The font’s structured geometry gave the名片 a sleek, tech-inspired look. I paired it with a softer sans serif for body text, which created a nice visual contrast while maintaining brand harmony. It was clear that Sunlove worked best as a headline or accent font — not ideal for long paragraphs, but perfect for grabbing attention in short bursts.

Web and Social Media: Standing Out Digitally

When it came to the website design, I used Sunlove in the hero section — the brand name in large, bold text over a neutral background. It made the header feel strong and memorable. On social media, especially Instagram posts and Stories, Sunlove’s unique style helped the brand stand out in a crowded feed. Its robotic aesthetic gave the visuals a futuristic edge that resonated with the brand’s innovative positioning.

One thing I noticed was how Sunlove affected brand perception. It gave the brand a subtle sense of authority and modernity. It wasn’t just a font — it was part of the story. The client loved how it differentiated them from competitors who were leaning into more expected, organic typography.

Pairing Sunlove with Other Fonts

Of course, no display font should go solo. I found that Sunlove played well with a clean sans serif like Montserrat or Lato for subheadings and body text. For a few special packaging editions, I even paired it with a light script font for a tagline, creating a nice contrast between technical and handcrafted. The key was balance — letting Sunlove shine as the visual anchor while supporting it with more neutral, readable fonts.

What to Watch For

While Sunlove is incredibly versatile, it’s best used in short-form applications. I wouldn’t recommend it for long paragraphs or body text in print. It’s also important to test how it looks in different sizes and environments. I had one packaging mockup where the font felt too compressed on a curved label, so I adjusted the tracking to give it more breathing room.

I also checked the font files before diving deep into the project. Sunlove came with multiple weights and alternates, which added flexibility. It supported multilingual characters, which was a plus since the brand planned to expand regionally. Licensing was clear and commercial-friendly — always a relief when working with third-party design assets.

From Mockup to Final Delivery

By the time we reached the final brand guide, Sunlove had become a core element of the visual identity. It appeared on product labels, digital ads, social media templates, and even the store signage. Each time, it brought a consistent tone — bold, modern, and slightly futuristic. The client was thrilled with how the font helped communicate their brand values without needing a lot of explanation.

As a designer, I appreciated how Sunlove pushed the project in a more creative direction. It reminded me that fonts aren’t just tools — they’re storytelling devices. And Sunlove, with its robotic charm and confident presence, told a story that resonated with both the brand and its audience.

Final Thoughts (Without Saying It)

If you're working on a branding project that needs a unique, bold presence, Sunlove is worth a test run. It’s a display font that goes beyond aesthetics — it shapes how your brand is perceived. Whether it's for a logo, packaging, or digital graphics, Sunlove brings a strong personality that can elevate your design from standard to standout.
